The Baltimore-class heavy cruiser was a class of fourteen heavy cruisers that were used by the United States Navy during the latter half of World War II. They were usually used to protect carrier battle groups or to shell enemy positions. All survived the war, and all but four were reactivated for use during the Korean War.
