The Curtiss GF2C Goshawk was a Navy biplane. 27 were ordered by the US Navy. It was armed with two .30 caliber Browning machine guns and could carry three 500lb bombs. They served on the USS Ranger until landing faulty landing gears. [1] It also had problems with its metal wings. BF2C stood for Bomber-Fighter, 2, Curtiss, or the second bomber-fighter from the Curtiss company.[2]
