The Frankfurt 42 was a mine detector used by Germany during World War II.
Description[]
The Frankfurt 42 was a complex design, described by Tactical and Technical Trends, No. 39 - 1943 as "a very elaborate piece of apparatus, no economies of any sort having been made in the design."[1] The detecting head was oblong in shape and 25 centimeters long. It was connected to a three-piece, 2.1 meter long rod that resulted in a total length of roughly 2.3 meters. The detector set itself was carried on the operators back and weighed 6.8 kilograms.
