The Royal Navy Ensign
The Royal Navy is the naval branch of the British Armed Forces. It would go on to be one of the most critical aspects of the British fighting forces, particularly in the early years where it was one of the most powerful navies in the world. The Royal Navy was first established in 1660 as the official navy of the country of Britain and continues to serve around the world to this day. During the war, the Royal Navy operated a large array of ships from aircraft carriers in the Pacific to battleships in the English Channel.
