The Vickers Type 287 Wellesley was a general purpose bomber used in the Middle East by the Royal Air Force

Development[]
Built by Vickers at their own risk, employing the geodetic construction developed by Barnes \wallis that was later use for the Wellington, the Type 287 was put forward as a replacement for the biplane design previously submitted to meet specification G.4/31.[1]
