This page documents an official policy on World War II Wiki. It has wide acceptance among editors and is considered a standard that everyone should follow. Except for minor edits, please make use of the discussion page to propose changes to this policy. |
On the WWII Wiki, administrators are given the power to delete pages. As such, there must be boundaries from which to abide from.
Immediate Deletion[]
Pages are allowed to be deleted upon detection if they meet the following requirements.
- Are obvious spam, vandalism, etc.
- Are tests by the admin in question or other admins
- Are a repeat of an existing page (If they have new information, the admin must make an attempt to transfer the new information to the existing page)
To be put up for Deletion[]
Pages can be put up for deletion by anyone, but that person has an obligation to notify the main editors of the page in question of its impending deletion with {{Delete Warning}}. An admin is allowed to delete the page after seven days if it is decided that the page can be deleted or if no opposition has been found
In order to mark for deletion, one must put the template {{Delete}} on the page in question.
Undeletion[]
At the same time, admins are also given the power to restore previously deleted pages. Generally, admins should add an edit summary along with the undeleted page to let others know why its content was republished.
Requirements for Undeletion[]
- Restoring the page may be a test which means that it can therefore be restored immediately, however, it must be deleted later
- As voted for by the community
- The page was accidentally deleted
