Talk pages are pages that are used for discussing topics related to the articles, communication, and historical matters relevant to the articles. There are certain policies that must be observed when using them.

Policies for different talk page types[]

General[]

These policies apply to all talk pages.

  • When writing a message a talk page, do not be vulgar, it may be permitted on other wikis, but not here
  • User posts must always be signed with a user signature and timestamp.
  • User posts should not be edited, except by sysops under very specific circumstances.
Sometimes on other wikis it is permitted to correct grammar mistakes in posts, however, this is prohibited here for reasons of wiki etiquette.
  • It is absolutely prohibited to alter a user's post in such a way that the meaning is changed. Such edits will be considered defamation if the original user requests a court case.
  • Impersonating any user (by fake signature or other means) will be punished severely, and considered defamation.
  • Content may not be removed from talk pages (even user talk pages) except in cases of vandalism or serious trolling as to be determined by the Military Police. Even in cases of trolling, content may be left in place as a record of it.
Content may be removed from talk pages only when it is archived properly. (See the archiving section)

Archiving[]

When a talk page grows to at least 100,000 bytes, it may be archived. The archiving should be performed according to proper procedure

Protocol

  1. Create a subpage of the talk page with the name Archive #, substituting "#" with the next consecutive number of the archive pages.
  2. The page should be added to the category (page name) Archive.
  3. All posts from at least one month previous should be removed and copied to the new archive page.
  4. The page material must not be modified in any way.
